Kristen Stafford designed the Alexander Residence by blending contradictory individual elements in a timeless style, providing a classic look that the family can enjoy for a lifetime.
Goals: To create an open, clean crisp space that is still warm and inviting
Strengths: High ceilings, great light, warmed with natural wood accents were used to achieve the clients ultimate goal.
Results: A welcoming kitchen that is also open, clean, and crisp.
Erin Mixson Interiors remodeled a kitchen that hadn’t been updated in 50 years. Antique worn white beams and rich limestone floors added warmth to the off-white walls and cabinets, and the pale stained island creates a feeling of an old farm table.
Goals: To update an original kitchen in a home built in 1967. The architect was William Hughes, Jr. and Erin Mixson Interiors focused on modernizing it for a large family. Appliances had never been changed before this redesign!
Strengths and challenges: The low ceilings were the biggest challenge for the designers. To open the kitchen to adjacent spaces and create a more open floor plan, load bearing walls had to be re-engineered to work with the new design. The character of the older home and the incredibly talented craftsmen involved stood out as strengths in this project.
Result: A modern kitchen that flows seamlessly with the original architecture. The space works well for the couple and their four boys. There is a study area, coffee bar, and sitting area. With the open floor plan, designers were able to accommodate a 48″ range and both a 36″ refrigerator and freezer.
Innovative Custom Home Builders focused on creating a functional kitchen for the Weishar residence redesign. This unique redesign included wooden cabinets, leathered granite counter tops, stainless appliances, and a copper sink that created a kitchen space with many different textures and colors.
Goals: Create a functional kitchen provide products which would allow for a everyday or gourmet meal to be made.
Strengths: Working with ADL to provide the specs and the knowledge of what works from past experiences.
Challenge: Getting the large vent insert to go into the modern style custom made hood.
Result: An extremely functional kitchen that used the GE Monogram line.
